After a very plesant drive, we reached the Interstate, and started our drive through New York City. I agreed to drive, and Samuel navigated. We slipped through the top of Manhattan, and across Long Island with very little problem. The stars were aligned just right!

At Montauk, we slept in, and then had breakfast at Mr. John's Pancake House before setting up for the art show. After the show was set up, I took my paint and bike to the Montauk Point Lighthouse. I followed a trail that led to the rocky shore with a great view of the lighthouse.

The painting came out well, so I painted another smaller picture of the lighthouse from a different view before returning to the apartment.

Daily DeviationThe fleeting and impressionistic style of Montauk Lighthouse really brings the scenery to life. *usartdude dances a fine line of skillful expression and child-like glee without seeming juvenile or over-worked. Another beautiful piece to complement a beautiful gallery. (Suggested by *chirumu and Featured by ^oilsoaked)

I love all the lines and textures from the paint strokes. Feels like I can reach out and touch them. =) Beautiful painting.

I love this... It could easily be the new cover page for Virginia Woolf's novel To the Lighthouse.
Absolutely wonderful. You're amazing with oil pastels.

Thanks...these latest paintings are oil paintings...they look similar, but in my opinion, oil paint is easier to use vs. oil pastel
Oups, my bad. No matter what you use you make everything seem easy. :) However, I'm the complete opposite. I find oil pastels to be easier, honestly. Though, I'm still a novice at oil paint.
